My Garden Christmas Eve
MY GARDEN ON CHRISTMAS EVE
Carrots from my garden
will be part of Christmas dinner.
To be gardening on Christmas Eve
makes me feel like a winner.
We still have roses blooming,
primrose are showing their heads.
Birds are noisily feeding
before they seek their beds.
A Downy Woodpecker, Hummingbirds,
Chickadees, Pine Siskins, Juncos,
Sparrows along the hedgerow,
are all birds that come and go.
Soggy lawn but lush and green,
kale is still prolific.
To live here on Canada’s south west coast
I feel blessed, it is terrific.
